Redefining On-Demand Care
The Challenge
In 2019 Ochsner wanted to further their virtual care mission with a more competitive and complete on-demand experience. They tasked Phox Health to launch same-day prescription delivery months before a pandemic turned convenience into a necessity.
The Solution
In less than a month we custom developed Phox Health’s technology for Ochsner’s pharmacies, deployed medical couriers across southeast Louisiana, and optimized every step leading to an average two hour delivery time.
What We Did
Ready for Pick-Up
We postponed timely EMR integration and designed our apps to best match Ochsner’s pharmacy workflows.
Out for Delivery
We worked with several couriers to significantly reduce delivery prices and helped protect pharmacy margins.
Confirmation
We built dashboards to monitor deliveries, audit signatures, and trend patient ratings.
Tablets for Tablets
We outfitted each Ochsner retail pharmacy with a custom iPad app giving them the power to request prescription delivery in less than 2 seconds.

Within hours Ochsner was the first and only health system in the country to shift all retail prescriptions to same-day delivery.
Two days after the mandate we delivered care kits to quarantined patients allowing Ochsner’s doctors to remotely monitor vital signs.
